Another one bites the dust
Just when I thought life was complicated enough as it is, Brad got laid off this morning! Whee!
So far I'm still in the strangely calm part of my coping process. I'm listing off all the positives. It's entirely possible that we will ultimately be glad this happened, as he's been really unhappy in his job for quite a while now. IF this doesn't become a long protracted job search. He's got a pretty good severance package, so we have some time for him to job search before the real panic sets in. And thankfully, we get our health insurance through my company so we don't have to deal with upheaval in health insurance while we're in the midst of having a baby.
For now, I get my very own house-husband. That could be a nice thing.

D'oh!
I'm sure someone will recognise his talents and pick him up soon enough (fingers are crossed just in case). In the meantime yes, take advantage of having him around the house.

Ouch! Good luck on the job search. MHNATY.

I hope this works out ideally so that he and you (and the muppet!) can maybe, perhaps, enjoy that time. But I can tell you from experience that it's hard to actually enjoy this kind of "vacation" in real time, so beware of that.

Thanks, guys. It's harder to be optimistic on Day 2, but we'll get there.

Oof...not good news...but you'll survive it and who knows, maybe it's a blessing in disguise.
