7 Reasons the 21st Century is Making You Miserable - I think there's a lot of truth to this.
Also, we're having lots of interesting clouds today:
Also, my coworker finally had her baby yesterday, a girl. I've never been spent so much time around a pregnant woman before and watched someone go through an entire pregnancy like that. Her desk is right next to mine, so it's pretty much been 40 hours a week. I know it's the most basic human biological process, but I still find it amazing, fascinating, and a bit creepy.

The link doesn't work so add that to the list of things making me miserable.
The clouds are fascinating. Looks like some sort of frontal boundary.
I worked closely with a woman throughout her entire pregnancy as well and the last four months consisted of her saying, at first with fear, "This baby's going to have to come out." to, a few weeks later, a more urgent and declarative "This baby's GOING TO HAVE TO COME OUT. NOW."

I really liked that great article. Goes along with my "help others" preaching yesterday.
Hey, make me a sandwich, would ya?

I definitely remember the day when my ex-coworker cam to me with the Scan These Please sheets which turned out to be echos of her freshly spawned little worm.
She then quit to become a full-time mom.
Re Cracked: ZeFrank also has a word on it, over a year ago.

Hm.
How much HTML can I use in a comment?

Ol' Lazy Eye couldn't figure out how to fix the link, huh? Here ya go, Ms. Saurus.

Wil, I was also reminded of that Ze episode. I especially liked his conclusion of "we have no way of knowing how friendships will evolve in this new domain, so stfu Professor". Every generation thinks society is coming to an end.

Just to be clear: I'm not in Z's or C's camp, but I take bits from both and then lean towards the article at an inclination of about 12 degrees.
Z makes a point, but you still can't replace half a dozen millennia of humans with not even half a century of remote communication.

Okay, having now read the article I can say the following:
The most depressing part of the whole thing is the bear, who I want to hug.

Movable Type has this annoying habit of appending a bunch of useless junk to the front of any URL I link to using the little "link" button. My punishment for being too lazy to write out the link myself and/or for using Movable Type.
Whatever Z or C says about friends on the internet, you guys make me smile and/or laugh and/or feel better in general. That can't be a bad thing.

Well, I see you stuck a sun sticker on your face... did you make silly faces at yourself in the mirror yet?

Tracy: I have to take baby steps, you know. Maybe tomorrow I'll try the silly faces. :P

Oh, and the most basic human biological process, I believe, might be that of transmuting foodstuffs into a rich brown paste while extracting nutrients.

Something that babies are very good at, I hear.

You think working next to someone during their whole pregnancy is tough? Try getting a decent night's sleep in the same bed as them...

*having now finally managed to download and read the article*
So, I guess what we need to do is arrange to all meet in a physical location, invite some other people none of us know or like, and then criticise each other.
I'm free this Saturday...

"I'm free this Saturday..."
Hey. me too.

Perfect idea. I'm finally doing my 50-mile charity bike ride on Saturday, so I'll be reeeally tired, loopy and possibly cranky after that. The perfect time to add some people I don't know or like to the mix!

That's right. Good luck!

That sounds like the most fun ever. Seriously.
